reCrib.com was founded in 2011 by parents and husband-and-wife-team Daniel and Michelle Lehmann, entrepreneurs, retailers and marketing professionals who live in NYC with their two children, ages six and four. With two businesses and two kiddies in the Big Apple, life is never dull - and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
As new parents, the couple purchased the best, highest design products and gear for their kids, but as their little ones outgrew it all, they didn’t know how or where to sell their stuff. They consulted with numerous friends and fellow parents, who all had the same problem but no solution. Thus the idea for reCrib was born. They created the online marketplace for families who were looking to buy and/or sell coveted cribs, beds, changing tables, dressers, strollers, high chairs, bouncy seats, bicycles, and much more.
Prior to creating reCrib, Daniel and Michelle co-founded Clio, the beloved home design store in SoHo that married their passions for design and travel, and quickly became a neighborhood staple and magnet for designers. In 1999, Daniel joined internet company Bolt, an online communications platform for teens, where he managed marketing partnerships with internationally renowned brands. Before entering the internet industry, he spent several years in sports marketing, first at National Media Group, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, and later at his own business, High Five Sports & Entertainment Marketing. He began his career in advertising at Weiss, Whitten, Stagliano.
Michelle has been an executive in the PR and marketing field for 18 years. At the same time she and Daniel launched reCrib, Michelle started her own PR and marketing company, Michelle Lehmann Communications. Prior to going solo, for nearly eight years, she served as the Director of PR & Marketing for Danny Meyer’s restaurant group, Union Square Hospitality Group, which includes some of NYC’s most popular and highly acclaimed restaurants. She also served as the Publicity Director for Zagat for several years before, as well as an Assistant Vice President for PR firm Rubenstein Associates. Earlier in her career, she worked at advertising agency Kirshenbaum, Bond & Partners doing PR and events for Snapple.
